The Camrose Police Service is seeking public assistance for information related to two recent arsons. On July 29th at 10:25 AM Police and the Fire Department responded to a fire within a residential property under construction in the Valleyview West subdivision. On August 8th at 7:30 AM a second fire was reported at a residential property under construction on 50th avenue in the 4500 block. Each fire was deliberately set causing significant damage inside the homes. Police are making all attempts to identify the suspect responsible for causing damage to these two properties.

Police are asking for assistance from the public to provide them with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect responsible. On July 16, 2017, at approximately 8:35 A.M., an unknown female attended the Safeway grocery store, located at 6800 – 48 Avenue in Camrose, Alberta. The unknown female left the business with a basket of unpaid items. Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the female.

Hit & Run

On June 23, 2017 at around 4:25 P.M. a pedestrian was crossing the intersection of 48 Avenue and 65 Street in Camrose, Alberta. The pedestrian had the right to cross when they began walking southbound in the crosswalk. The pedestrian then observed a silver newer model SUV proceed through a red light travelling westbound on 48 Avenue. The driver of the vehicle hit the brakes heavily then proceeded to hit the gas and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk knocking them to the ground. The driver of the motor vehicle stopped briefly to ask if the pedestrian was okay then proceeded away from the area prior to Police arrival.

The pedestrian described the driver of the SUV as an elderly woman; Caucasian with longer grey hair that was styled up, the woman was wearing glasses at the time of the collision.

Sometime during the early morning hours of May 7, 2017 unknown person(s) caused damage to trees situated in the Victoria Park playground located in the 6300 block of 54 Avenue in Camrose, Alberta. The suspect(s) cut down one tree on the north and one tree on the east end of the park with the use of a chainsaw.

The person(s) took a left handed Callaway Epic Subzero driver and left the business. The theft occurred sometime between February 25 and February 27, 2017.

Theft 

On March 26th, 2017 at 23:42 two unknown subjects stole an empty enclosed white 12 foot single axle trailer from A1 Rentals in Camrose, AB. Nearby video surveillace shows what is believed to be a 2008-2010 Superduty Ford truck responsible for the theft. Dark fender flares can be observed on the truck.

The subjects then used the trailer to steal undertermined items from three locked storage units at at storage facility in Camrose.

The stolen trailer is pictued below and can be recognized by the large A1 Rentals decals on either side above the axle.

The male entered the store after closing while the employee was in the process of closing down the business. The male grabbed a bottle of Torres Brandy from the first shelf and ran out of the store. Between October 19-20, 2016, unknown person(s) entered Pioneer Truck Lines yard in Camrose, Alberta and stole several fuel cards from the company’s vehicles. The fuel cards were used throughout central Alberta between October 21 -30, 2016.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance at the Lloydminster Co-op fuel station. Police are requesting help identifying the male suspect.

Police obtained a statement from staff advising several patrons had attended the business at the closing of the Tap Room Bar and during this time the male was observed punching the kiosk causing damage. The male left the business prior to staff being able to confirm his identity.

Upon arrival Police noted the front door to the business had been smashed out and entry was gained to the property. No items were stolen; however substantial damage was caused to the front entry of the business.

On August 15, 2016, at approximately 4:00 P.M., the Camrose Police Service responded to a theft of groceries at the Wal-Mart located at 6800 – 48 Avenue. When the members arrived, it was determined that a male and female exited out the fire exit doors next to the produce area on the west side of the building with a full cart of groceries. As the suspects fled out the doors, a can of bear spray was emptied in the door way.

The female is described as a heavier set native wearing white and black pattern shoulder less shirt, possibly jean capris style pants. The female had shoulder length black hair.

The male is described as native wearing a maroon coloured shirt, dark coloured knee length shorts, and black shoes with white socks. The male was also wearing a blue baseball cap with a red brim.

ASSAULT WITH  A WEAPON

On May 2, 2016 at approximately 9:10 P.M. a couple was walking in the area of 73 Street and 45 Avenue in Camrose, Alberta. A black car drove by the couple and a passenger shot a paintball gun, striking the woman. The car then continued south on 73 Street and shot the paintball gun at a holiday trailer several times.

The vehicle is described as being a black, 4 door sedan with dark window tint. The rims are black with a bit of red either on the rim or on the brake components.

Break and Enter

On February 18, 2016 at 4:00 A.M. The Cornerstone Subway located at 6800 – 48 Avenue in Camrose, Alberta was broken into and an unknown suspect fled with an empty cash register. The unknown suspect entered through the Northwest entrance door by breaking the glass to gain entry inside.

Theft of Fuel

On January 6th, 2016 at approximately 11:18 P.M. a female driving a white SUV, possibly a Buick Enclave, pulled into the Camrose 7-11. A male passenger pumped $20 of fuel into the vehicle and a second male passenger entered the store. This male tried to pay for the fuel with a payment card but, the transaction was declined. The male then quickly ran out of the store and got into the SUV which was waiting for him to exit. Based on the behavior of the male it is believed that he intended to not pay for the fuel. The male who entered the store is pictured below and was described as: aboriginal, in his late 30’s or early 40’s, had short black hair, a moustache, and was wearing a black jacket, with a purple shirt underneath, and jeans.

On January 7th at approximately 11:23 P.M. Police responded to an alarm at a liquor store on the west side of Camrose. It was determined that two males in a white Buick Enclave had driven to the business and got out of their vehicle. They approached a front glass window and used a tool to break the glass; they departed prior to entry into the store. Based on the description of the vehicle and the subjects seen on video surveillance it is believed that this attempted break and enter is related to the theft of fuel from 7-11.

Theft of Bicycle

Sometime overnight between October 23rd, and 24th, 2015 a yellow and black Encore Riff brand BMX bike was stolen from outside a residence north of Mirror Lake in Camrose, Alberta. The bike was cable locked however the lock was cut by the suspect(s). The bike is quite distinguishable due to its bright yellow coloring which is visible mostly on the back half of the bike.

Theft of truck:

On August 28, 2015, between 10:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M., unknown person(s) stole a white 2003 Ford SRW truck bearing the license plate ZMK-169 from the 46th Avenue in the 6900 block in Camrose, Alberta. The unknown person(s) used a UFA fuel card from the vehicle on August 29, 2015, in Tofield and Vegriville, Alberta. On September 14, 2015, Police recovered the vehicle unoccupied.

A suspect was captured on surveillance footage at the Tofield UFA fuel station. Police are requesting help identifying the male subject below.

Break and enter to commit theft: 

Sometime during the evening of May 6 and the early morning of May 7, 2015, someone entered the locked compound of a business in Camrose that is located within the east industrial area. Access was gained by the suspect(s) by cutting the chain link fence and once inside the suspect(s) entered several locked RV trailers. Multiple TV’s were stolen with a few of the T.V’s being damaged in the process. A stereo and two mattresses were also taken. The brands of the TV’s were mostly VISIO (VIZIO).

Theft of electronics and other merchandise:

On May 8, 2015 at approximately 1:30 PM, a male and female entered the Walmart in Camrose, Alberta and had several items scanned through a register. Once the items were scanned, the female picked up the bag containing two I-pads, two Samsung Galaxies and a pair of BEATS headphones as well as other smaller items and walked out of the store. The male told staff he needed to get something else from the store but did not return to pay for the items. The female was described as being native, with shoulder length dark brown hair and the male was described as being native with short black hair. Recovery of stolen truck and subsequent theft of another truck

On November 14, 2014, the Camrose Police Service recovered a dark green 2006 Ford F350 truck which was stolen from Acheson Petro-Canada on November 8, 2014. A trail camera was located inside that vehicle among a variety of other property including a vast number of break-in tools.  The camera contained an image of the below male with the stolen F350 seen in the background.

On November 14, 2014, a short time after the recovery of the dark green F350, a silver 2003 Ford F250 truck was stolen from a residence in Camrose and later recovered in Sherwood Park on November 17, 2014.

Theft from Mailboxes

On Friday February 27, 2015, sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) broke into an apartment complex located near 53 Street and 49th Avenue in Camrose, Alberta. Entry was gained by prying open the door. Once inside the suspect(s) broke into the complexes mailboxes gaining access to several residents’ mail. It is unknown if any mail was stolen.

On the same night unknown person(s) broke into another apartment complex located near 49th Avenue and 52A Street in Camrose, Alberta. Entry was also gained by prying open the door. Theft of Trailer:

On January 5th, 2015 Camrose Police Service received a complaint of a stolen gooseneck flat deck trailer.  The trailer was stolen from an east end business in the City of Camrose sometime between January 4th and January 5th, 2015.  The trailer is described as a 2013 Suretrac 25 foot goose neck trailer black in color with a wooden deck.  The trailer has an attached tool box at the front of the trailer with several chains and boomer’s located inside the box.  The driver side rear tail light is an aftermarket LED style and the passenger side tail light is factory halogen. A image of a similar trailer is pictured below.

Failure to Remain at the Scene of a Collision

On September 30, 2014 at 5:57 P.M. an unknown male driving a brown or burgundy 2013-2014 Ford F350 King Ranch Crew Cab with silver rain guards struck a parked blue 2004 Pontiac Sunfire in the parking lot of the Camrose Wal-Mart.

The male driver was captured on surveillance entering the business and conducting a purchase. The male then returned to his vehicle and proceeded to pull through his parking stall striking the passenger side fender of the victims vehicle with the front passenger side of his truck. His vehicle had been parked facing westbound one stall southeast of the victim’s vehicle. The male exited his vehicle, examined the damage, and then proceeded to leave the parking lot southbound without advising the driver of the other vehicle of the collision.

Description of Male: late 20’s, Caucasian, approx. 5’10”, short dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a blue Hollister hoodie with a black Alpine Star baseball cap.

Theft of a Truck

On October 1, 2014 at 3:43 A.M. two unknown suspects drove into the lot of a business that is located on the east side of Camrose, Alberta south of Camrose Drive. The suspects were driving a white Ford Super Duty truck with a red slip tank in the back.  A male exited the truck and checked the passenger door of a truck that was parked in the business’s lot and found it to be unlocked with the keys left inside.  The suspects then drove away in their vehicle briefly but quickly returned at 3:48 A.M. The same male exited the suspects’ truck and stole the unlocked truck.  Both vehicles were last seen driving South on Range Road 202.

The truck stolen is a white 2011 Ford F-350 that has an Alberta licence plate of EHC-459. The truck also has a 50 inch light bar on top of its cab, black rims, and dark tinted windows.

Theft from Motor Vehicles and Unlawful Use of a Credit Card:

During the night of May 26th to May 27th, 2014 an unknown person(s) gained entry to several unlocked motor vehicles in the area of 46 Street and 46 Avenue in Camrose, Alberta. The unknown person(s) stole various items from the vehicles including a black Garmin GPS and a black trifold leather wallet.

Attempted Robbery with an Offensive Weapon:

On Sunday, May 18, 2014 at approximately 4:15 A.M. a lone male entered the Norseman Inn lobby. Upon entering the male sprayed the front desk clerk with an aerosol substance and attempted to break into an office located off of the lobby area. The male was unable to get into the office and fled the scene.

The male suspect is described as follows:  Caucasian male, mid 20’s to early 30’s in age, 5’9″ – 5’10” in height, thin build, dirty blond hair, approximately 170 lbs, wearing a dark ball cap, dark hoody, grey pants, and a back pack.

Break & Enter to Jewelery Store:

On February 23rd, 2014 at 5:26 A.M. police responded to a break in alarm at Lascala Jewelers located at 4925 – 50 Street, Camrose. When police arrived they noted that the business had been entered as the front glass door had been shattered and various glass displays had been broken into and jewelry items stolen. Police are working with the owner of the business in determining the value and the descriptions of the stolen items. With the use of video surveillance police determined that there were four suspects involved in the break in. The suspects are also believed to have fled the area in a vehicle of unknown description.

Vandelism Complaints: 

Between January 24, 2014 and January 26, 2014, Police have received 7 complaints from citizens who reported unknown person(s) had caused willful damage to their property.  Six of those reported incidents were in relation to parked motor vehicles where the windows had been broken.  One report involved a Spec Home where the front windows had been damaged.  An investigation determined unknown individual(s) discharged a BB or pellet gun to cause the damage to the windows of these property owners.  These incidents occurred in the late hours of January 23, 2014 or early morning hours of January 24, 2014 in the residential areas of:

Theft from a business:

On January 20th, 2014, at 11:05 A.M. Police received a call that a male had stolen a Macbook Pro computer from the Camrose Staples.  The suspect was shopping in the store and picked out the computer with the assistance of an employee.  The employee took the computer to the till where the suspect grabbed it off the counter and ran out of the store.  As the suspect exited the store, a car drove out of the parking lot and the suspect got in the car which then drove west past Walmart.  The suspect is described as a white male who is approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black ball cap, sunglasses, a black zip-up hooded jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes.  The vehicle is described as a black two door 2000’s Sunfire style of car.

Mischief

On August 1, 2013, Police entered into an investigation of a mischief to a Purple Martin birdhouse. Sometime between 5:00 PM on July 31, 2013 and 6:00 AM on August 1, 2013, unknown individual(s) broke the wooden post holding the birdhouse. The birdhouse was located beside the Stoney Creek Centre in Camrose, Alberta.

There have been no witnesses to this mischief at this point in the investigation.  The investigation has not revealed the identity of the person(s) responsible for the offence, therefore the Police are asking for assistance through Crime Stoppers.
